Whether you are planning to drive in England, France or Spain, plan your route by entering the postcode or station closest to your departure and destination points. If you would like to break your journey add in your preferred stop-off points. Routes can be selected using the recommended, shortest and quickest routes and other options include avoiding toll roads or choosing motorway driving.

This option allows you to find those places worth a detour such as UK or European tourist attractions, religious buildings or places of architectural interest or if you prefer, find out where the nearby leisure activities are. Detailed road maps are available for you to view the attractions in the local area en route to your destination. You can also plan your return journey or change the route if you prefer.

How to use the map navigation tools

 Zoom in

This is the long zoom bar. At one end is a minus that zooms out 1 level at a time, and the opposite end have a plus which zooms in a level. In between are blocks that represent the many scales of the map that allow the user to jump to a scale.

Initial map The Initial map button. When clicked it resets the map to the default displayed map.
Scroll mode This is the scroll mode button. When clicked, the map action with the mouse means the user can drag the map around in the map window.
Action Zoom This is the default action zoom mode button. This allows the user to drag a box on the map and zoom in on their selection.
Enlarge button This is the enlarge button which when clicked opens a popup version of the current map and details in a larger map.
